Da Camera Toronto is a musical collective whose aim is to assemble an historical keyboard instrument collection that can be made available for public presentation. Da Camera musicians have collaborated with instrument owners, both individual and institutional, to showcase these instruments. The result is a growing collection of fine early keyboard instruments earmarked for educational and performance purposes.
Under the artistic direction of Dr. Andrea Botticelli, Da Camera has come together for its inaugural 2017-2018 performance season to put on a series of concerts that explore a variety of historical keyboards in many settings. We are a group of artists that believe in experimentation and renewal of our artistic practice through collaboration to create a unique sound and performance conditions. Early keyboards are the focus of the collective, but the purpose of the collaboration is to perform in multiple chamber settings, both vocal and instrumental.
